Horn and Johnson: Matrix Analysis, second edition, 2013 (it is also possible to use the first edition but note that several sections have been rewritten and new exercises have been added in the second edition). A classic book on matrix theory, consistently among the most cited books in all of mathematics since first published in 1985, essential reading for the course. The book is currently (May 2023) available as eBook at Linköping University library.
Lecture notes
We will also use some parts of Horn and Johnson: Topics in Matrix Analysis, a second volume with some more specialized topics.
