0. Background
During the course, three voluntary digital exams (KTR1–3) are offered. Passing all three results in one bonus point to add to all future written exams (TEN1), until further notice. Passing fewer gives no bonus. To pass a digital exam, you must pass every question on it. If you fail, you can try again as many times as you want until the exam closes; see below for the schedule.
To take a digital exam, you use your own electronic device to access the Möbius platform. The following instructions tell you how.
1. Access the course page in Möbius
You must carry out the following steps before the first digital exam. Do it as soon as possible.- Visit https://liu.mobius.cloud/login
- Log in by choosing Use your school account (even if you have a done it differently before). This should redirect you to the LiU login service. Use your ordinary LiU ID and password.*
(*) Note: If you are unable to log in using your school account, it could be because you already had a Möbius account created before your studies were commenced. As a last resort, you could then try to log in using the second option ("Log in with your Möbius account"). - Verify your personal data in Möbius. Probably, you are prompted to do it the first time you log in. Otherwise, click your name at the top of the screen. Make sure that your Möbius user is associated with your student email address. If not, update it by choosing Change e-mail.
- Enroll in the class. In order to access the course page in Möbius, you must add yourself by clicking Enroll in a Class on the screen you are sent to after logging in. The course TATA82 spring 2024 should be visible (if not, try the search bar). Click it to join the class.
2. Rules for the digital exams
- It is not allowed to obtain help from other human beings or artificial intelligences.
- It is allowed, and strongly recommended, to assist your calculations using some computer algebra system.
- It is your responsibility to pass the exam before it closes, even in the face of equipment problems, connection failures, power outages, meteorite impacts, etc. Therefore, do not wait until the last minute.
3. How to take a digital exam
This assumes that you have access to the "TATA82 spring 2024" course page in Möbius. If not, follow the above instructions first.
- Visit the "TATA82 spring 2024" course page in Möbius. Select an exam during the time it is open (see schedule below).
- Every exam consists of three questions. The answer to each question is an integer.
- If you think you gave the wrong answer to a question, finish the exam anyway and select Submit assignment.
- If your exam score (shown on the course page) is less than three points, you did not pass. This is also indicated by a large red cross next to the assignment. You may then select Try again. The system remembers and indicates your earlier correct answers; those questions you just skip. The questions that you answered incorrectly last time are replaced by other, similar questions.
- As long as the exam is open, you can Try again and repeat the above procedure. When you have answered all three questions correctly, you see on the main course page that you have received three points on the exam, and this is indicated by a large green check mark next to it. You have passed.
